Diffusion stacks, spectral honesty, and why a Bright Display panel is atmosphere, not a screen hanging on the wall.
Clients often ask whether a luminous canvas is “like a TV that stays on.” It is not. Televisions and edge-lit advertising panels are built for image contrast and pixel density. Bright Display panels are built for continuous, low-glare atmosphere, whether the brief is residential, hospitality, or a quiet workplace reception.
Screens chase black levels, refresh rates, and HDR highlights. That produces sparkle and specular hotspots, useful for cinema, harsh for a dining wall. Backlight modules also tend to reveal LED dots when dimmed or viewed off-axis.
Atmosphere first. Content belongs in the media bay, not on the feature wall.
Our multi-layer diffusion stacks scatter light before it leaves the face. The goal is optical honesty: if you can see the dots, we remake the stack. Spectral bins favour skin and art over cold lumen bragging rights.

Technical note: Treat luminous canvases as architectural light sources in the lighting schedule, not AV equipment. Cable routes and driver locations follow lighting practice.
Use a display for content. Use Aura Canvas, Ember Tile, or Solstice Frame when the brief is mood, material, and presence. Many projects use both, screen in the media bay, luminous plane on the feature wall opposite. Culture venues that need even fields without screen glare should also review culture & galleries.
